Vlisco Fashion Fund 2018 Finalist

In her collection (Inner State) for the Fashion Fund, Abiola (a 2-time domestic violence survivor) reflects on her personal journey escaping abuse. The volume and placement of the hand made ruffles are symbolic of the weight of abuse and the feeling of being restricted in physical and emotional freedom. Her content portrays the heavy emotions prior to the escape and the eventual joy and sense of self worth that follow.
