The Fashionable Escape
The 2019 Fashionable Escape was held on 26.06.19 in support of Women’s Habitat, an outreach centre that supports women and children fleeing domestic violence.
The event had 3 objectives:
Raise funds to establish a sewing and entrepreneurship studio at the outreach centre. Proceeds from ticket sales will be used to purchase a number of sewing and serger machines along with other items needed to set up the studio. I will be volunteering my time to set up and teach at the studio. Proceeds raised from the sale of items women make in the studio go directly to the women who made the items
Raise funds to hire at least 1 woman to join the Precious Threads by Abiola team in her area of skill and passion (i.e. marketing, website design, sewing, accounting, photography, etc.)
To increase awareness for Precious Threads by Abiola and Women's Habitat to further the vision/mission of both
